Cornwall… cream teas, beaches, surfing, pasties, walking, golf, just sitting enjoying the fresh air and laid back life. Fish and chips, sailing, sea fishing… did I mention cream teas! Oh, and then there’s the cider farm, the brewery and the vineyard. Whatever you want from your holiday, you will find it all in Cornwall. Families, couples, big kids, small kids and dogs, there’s something for everyone, and it’s never far away.
Within 15 mins
- Polzeath Beach – Blue Flag beach offering safe surfing with lifeguards. Wetsuit/surfboard hire and two surf schools are all to hand should tuition be required. You may even find a Prince or two bodyboarding if you keep an eye out.
- Daymer Bay – perfect for wandering along the beach or playing with the children, or walk the cliff path to Polzeath
- Rock – with superb sailing, windsurfing, walking, views overlooking the Camel Estuary, and the foot ferry to Padstow. The Michelin starred Nathan Outlaw can also be found in Rock at St Enodoc Hotel.
- Golf at St Endoc and The Point – take in a few holes and some fresh sea air
- The Cowshed Spa at St Moritz Hotel in Trebetherick or Reflections Beauty Spa at The Point – treat yourself to some relaxing ‘me’ time
- Port Isaac – the lovely fishing village made famous by the original Poldark and more recently Doc Martin
- Poldark Country – catch a glimpse of Ross Poldark’s Cottage, Nampara, on Bodmin Moor or perhaps even the man himself. The rugged backdrop of Bodmin Moor features many a scene from the new Poldark. For some of the cliff scenes the filming action moved to the Padstow area with spectacular views across the Camel Estuary and Tregirls beach, while the beauty of the wide sandy beach of Porthcothan is hard to miss in the scenes featuring Poldark’s fictional Nampara Cove. Real fans may like to know filming for series two starts in September!

- Tintagel – search for Merlin’s cave in King Arthur’s country

- Watergate Bay – perfect for surfing and lunch at Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen restaurant
- Newquay – famous for surfing on Fistral Beach plus much, much more
- Eden Project – the global garden and a true place of beauty and wonder
- Polperro, Looe and Fowey – just three of the many pretty and intriguing harbour-side towns that Cornwall has to offer
